1. Who we are
Mon Chiot is a portal that connects families with responsible dog breeders in Quebec and Ontario. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the portal, why we collect it, and what rights you can exercise, in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25.
2. Person responsible for the protection of personal information
Any request regarding your personal information can be sent to our privacy officer, reachable at info@monchiot.ca.
3. Mon Chiot's role as an intermediary
Mon Chiot is a portal, not a breeder. When you click "Contact breeder," you communicate directly with the breeder by email — Mon Chiot does not receive, read or retain that exchange. Any contact details you share with a breeder are then governed by that breeder's own privacy practices, not by this policy.

We do not collect any sensitive information and never ask for banking details through the portal — Mon Chiot does not process any payments.
5. Cookies and analytics technologies
No analytics cookie is set before your explicit consent. The banner shown on your first visit lets you accept or decline, and declining is exactly as easy as accepting. You can revisit your choice at any time using the "🍪 Cookies" button at the bottom of every page.
Cookies strictly necessary for the portal to function — remembering your consent choice, for example — are set without consent, as permitted by law.
6. Disclosure to third parties
We never sell, rent or trade your personal information. If you use "Notify me," your email is never shared with any breeder — the alert is sent from our own systems. Conversely, when you contact a breeder directly, that exchange belongs to them and never passes through Mon Chiot.
7. Hosting and place of processing
This portal is hosted on a server located in Canada. If a provider were to process your information outside Quebec, we would first carry out the privacy factor assessment required by Law 25.
8. Your rights
- Access — obtain a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Rectification — have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected.
- Withdrawal of consent — unsubscribe from alerts at any time, without affecting a request already in progress.
- Deletion — request deletion of information whose purpose has been fulfilled.
- Portability — receive your information in a structured, commonly used technological format.
- Complaint — file a complaint with Quebec's Commission d'accès à l'information if our response does not satisfy you.
We respond to every request within a maximum of 30 days.
9. Security
The portal is served entirely over HTTPS. Should a privacy incident presenting a risk of serious harm occur, we would notify affected individuals as well as the Commission d'accès à l'information, as required by law.

Any change to this policy will be published on this page, with a revised update date.
